About the Chinese Gender Chart
Legend has it that the Chinese Gender Prediction chart was discovered in a royal tomb over 700 years ago. The chart cross-references the mother's lunar age at the time of conception with the lunar month of conception to predict the baby's gender.
While many mums enjoy checking the chart for fun, there is no scientific evidence that it works any better than random chance. Studies have shown that the chart's accuracy is approximately 50% — exactly what you would expect from a guess.
If you would like to know your baby's sex with certainty, speak to your doctor about an anatomy scan (usually done between 18 and 22 weeks) or non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), which can be done from around 10 weeks.
